|
Does minor healing. There are many different types, and they all heal differently. Can be used while holding another item. Heals anywhere from 2 - 9%. This item makes its first appearance in this game.

Maxim Tomato
|
Reduces 50% damage. Can be used while holding another item. These first appeared in Kirby's Dream Land.
|
|
|
Heart Container
|
Reduces 100% damage. Can be used while holding another item. These first appeared in the first Zelda game for NES.

|
Pokéball
|
A Pokémon comes out to attack opponents. There are a total of 29 different Pokémon that can emerge from the Pokéballs. These of course first appeared in Pokémon.

|
Green Shell
|
Throw it, strike it, or jump on it to make it go in a direction. It will not stop unless it hits someone in mid-air or hits a wall. First appeared in the original Mario for NES.

|
Red Shell
|
Throw it, strike it, or jump on it to make it follow opponents on the platform it's on. It will stay and go back and forth on whatever platform it was thrown or hit on. These too, first appeared in the original Mario for NES.

|
|
Flipper
|
An item that is placed in the air; anyone who hits it is knocked backwards. Much like a hovering bumper. This is their first appearance in a game.
|
|
|
Freezie
|
When it appears, it will slide across the ground. If thrown, it will slide on the ground like a shell, and when it makes contact with an enemy, it will freeze them for a fairly long time. Once again, a NES Mario classic.

|
|
Mr. Saturn
|
Can be thrown at enemies multiple times; when on the ground he walks around and likes to push items to push them off the edge. This item first appeared in Earthbound for SNES, and can be caught in mid-air.

|
|
Bob-omb
|
Can be thrown at enemies or set on the ground to have it start walking; gives a decent amount of damage. Yet another Mario classic.
|
|
|
Motion Sensor Bomb
|
A bomb that can be placed anywhere. If anything gets near it, it explodes. Great for putting on edges, or hard to see places.
|
|
|
Barrel Cannon
|
If someone throws this, or if it lands on a slope, it will suck in anyone that touches it. When it's pointing in the safest direction, press A to shoot out. But be careful, if you don't press anything, it will eventually shoot you out at random. This first appeared in Donkey Kong Country for SNES.

|
Ray Gun
|
Fires a laser shot; little damage and knocks opponent back. First appeared in the original Super Smash Brothers for Nintendo 64.
|
|
|
Super Scope
|
Highly effective blaster weapon. Can use rapid fire or a charge shot, but the battery runs out quicker with charge shots. You only get 3 fully charged shots. The bullets also deflect off of certain surfaces. First used with the SNES.

|
Fire Flower
|
You can throw fire at a person if they are near; or for long range you can throw it. This turned Mario into Fire Mario in the original Mario for NES.
|
|
|
Star Rod
|
Stronger than a fan in regular attacks; with a smash or strong attack a star will shoot out of the end. This is yet another item coming from the world of Dream Land.
|
|
|
Beam Sword
|
Effective sword like weapon. When used as with a smash attack, the blade becomes longer and more powerful, depending on which character you are. Yet another item from the original Super Smash Brothers.
|
|
|
Home-Run Bat
|
Easy one hit kill if you get the powerful hit (smash attack). First appeared in the Nintendo 64 hit, Super Smash Brothers.
|
|
|
Parasol
|
Used to fight enemies or throw at them; also can be used to slowly float down to the ground. Makes it virtually impossible to be knocked out by falling. Yet another weapon new to the world of Super Smash Brothers Melee.

|
|
Lip's Stick
|
Kinda like a poison flower. When someone gets hit by it, a flower will grow on their head, and they will take gradual damage until they shake it off. Hit someone continuosly to make the flower bigger and take damage faster. This first appeared in a game only released in Japan.

|
|
Fan
|
Light item, little damage, but quick attacks. A smash attack can break shields, and when thrown, it sends the opponent upwards. This was first introduced in the first Super Smash Brothers.

|
|
Mushroom
|
When it appears, it will slide across the ground. Increases player size, speed, and strength. Only needs to be touched. Gee, I wonder where this item came from? ;)
|
|
|
Poison Mushroom
|
When it appears, it will slide across the ground. Decreases player size, speed, and strength. Only needs to be touched. It's new to the gaming world, and it is slightly darker than the Mushroom.
|
|
|
Starman
|
Makes you invincible for a limited time. Only needs to be touched, but is hard to catch since it bounces on the ground. Does Mario for NES sound familiar to you?
|
|
|
Warpstar
|
Sends you high in the sky, then crashing back down to the ground near where you picked it up. You can steer it slighty by tapping the control stick. First appeared in Kirby's Dream Land.

|
|
Hammer
|
When picked up, you go into a wild frenzy and hit anyone that gets near you. You don't have a second or third jump while using it, however. Hmmm, I wonder where this item first appeared? ;)
|
|
| Headless Hammer
|
When you pick it up, the head flies off and you are left shaking a stick. You still have no second or third jump and are left totally defenseless. The head can be picked up and used as a throwing item.

|
|
Bunny Hood
|
Increases player's speed and jumping distance. First appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
|
|
|
Screw Attack
|
Players who wear this can use what some say is the most annoying attack ever, Samus's screw attack, simply by jumping. It works for both your regular jump, and your double jump, and you can throw it at enemies to make them go all screwy. First appeared in Metroid for NES.

|
|
Cloaking Device
|
When you wear this, you become invisible, which makes it very easy to launch surprise attacks. You do blink though every so often. You do not take any damage either, but you can still get knocked off the screen if you have a lot of damage. First appeared in Perfect Dark for Nintendo 64.

|
|
Metal Box
|
Gives you the same type of power that Metal Mario had in the original SSB. Very hard to knock off your feet, and very heavy. Can use it when holding another item. First appeared in Super Mario 64.
|
|
|
Party Ball
|
When it hits the ground, it rises into the air, and drops some items. It will either drop Food, Bob-ombs, random items, or explode. Sorry I forgot the odds of all of them happening, but this is a new item to the game.

|
|
Crate
|
Very heavy; can have items, explode, or even have a baddy like a goomba or Redead. First appeared in the original Super Smash Brothers.
|
|
|
Barrel
|
Same as crate, instead it can roll like a barrel cannon. First appeared in Donkey Kong.
|
|
|
Capsule
|
A light item, easily thrown to hit someone. One item will come out, or it may blow up. First known existence, Super Smash Brothers for Nintendo 64.

|
|
Egg
|
Similar to the capsule. If a Chansey comes out a Pokeball, many of these will appear. Not to be confused with egg the food which looks just like this and can also come out of Chansey.
